The company’s initial product, a web browser that revolutionizes the way people discover, utilize, distribute and develop web applications uses an integrated Smart Bar™ and Web App Shop™ to facilitate their mission.
Browsers can be smarter
We created our browser with the belief that if a browser provided a more helping hand that web apps would not have to work as hard to mimic their desktop counterparts. Browsers could provide more ways for developers to leverage their functionality and do so safely. Innovation isn't limited to merely what the view port renders or what extensions can provide. We dream of new ways in which developers could tailor the functionality of the browser to provide a better, easier and unified experience. The only barrier between the web app and the device you are using is the browser. It needs to be more than just a browser, it needs to be partner in providing a platform for software development. The exact same the way an operating system does. Like the phone, the browser can become smarter.
A commitment to standards
Quality and consistency of browsing content is of the upmost importance to us. That is why we selected Webkit — the fastest, most secure and best HTML rendering engine on the planet. Web content should look as exactly as intended from browser-to-browser. Unless of course the developer has chosen to provide unique functionally to a specific user on a specific browser. We feel this is the best approach to maintaining standards while at the same time providing the developer choice to enhance their applications to integrate directly with it. We are web developers. The last thing we would ever want to do is increase overhead for other developers testing their work. So be assured we will focus our efforts on improving the chrome on the outside of the view port and keep the status quo within it.
How we generate revenue
We primarily derive our revenue from earning a small percentage of the money generated when you search and click on sponsored likes. There are two ways to helps us generate revenue — use the welcome page or search from the main address bar. Before you head off to bookmark a different way to search as your home page. We thought you would consider searching through it as a way to continue to support our end users at no cost. All that we ask is that you search through us and click on whatever links you find relevant.
Security and privacy
Our browser is as secure as Webkit. We've locked down many features within the beta to insure that there will not be any type of security flaws before we even provide access to some of the basic configurations in the preferences. Your privacy and security are important and we are taking extra precautions to insure that we avoid any issues. If you feel that your information is at risk within Raven or have stumbled upon a potential security flaw please inform us and we will work toward a solution.
